Our Mission

The Baton Rouge Film Commission is under the Office of the Honorable Mayor-President and works in partnership with Visit Baton Rouge. We exist to make the capital region a premier destination for film and television production. We serve productions of every scale, strengthen the local creative workforce, and turn on-screen storytelling into lasting economic opportunity for our community.

I've based three productions at Celtic studios in Baton Rouge over the last 15 years and would jump at the chance to bring back another one.  The film commission in BR is one of the finest in the country, and is very helpful with all regional locations as far north as St. Francisville.

“Indie & Nonde filmmakers: Go film in Baton Rouge!!! They are wonderful to work with…”

We were planning scenes that were set at The Alamo.  We found a great location to do the “cheat” in downtown Baton Rouge.  The location was attached to some government buildings… the Baton Rouge Film Commission was able to reach the right people to explain our requests and cut through some red tape to secure the location for us. The sequence ended up looking amazing as a result.

“Getting the occasional small road closure and working with the local municipality was no problem whatsoever, thanks to the Baton Rouge Film Office.”
